A story that spans one hundred years comes to life in the city’s most iconic locations.
Ducati’s Century Through Bologna

From 4 September to 5 October 2026, Ducati celebrates its Centenary with Bologna, the city where its extraordinary journey began and where its legacy has continued to unfold for a century. 

Four iconic venues in the heart of the historic city centre will host a unique exhibition experience, celebrating the craftsmanship and mastery behind every Ducati motorcycle created at the Borgo Panigale factory, alongside the brand’s relentless pursuit of innovation, design excellence, and Collezione100, a tribute born from the dialogue between contemporary Ducati models and the legendary liveries that have defined the marque’s history. 

The exhibition unfolds through a series of specially curated stops, inviting visitors to discover the profound connection between Ducati and Bologna, a story of passion, vision, and Italian excellence that has evolved from 1926 to today.

Where Ducati Takes Shape - Salaborsa Library
Every Ducati takes shape in Borgo Panigale, through the fusion of ideas, craftsmanship, and precision engineering. Within the spaces of Salaborsa, the photographs of Giovanni De Sandre enter the factory to portray its people, its tools, and the defining moments of production. Together, the images create a narrative of craftsmanship where experience and technology move forward in perfect harmony. At the centre of the exhibition stands the mechanical base of the Superleggera V4 Centenario, the pinnacle of Ducati engineering and technical excellence. The choice of Salaborsa creates a profound connection with the memory of the city: today home to Bologna’s main library, the building preserves beneath its glass floor the traces of the civilisations that have inhabited this same place throughout history.
A Century of Transformation - Palazzo Pepoli. Museum of the History of Bologna
Ducati was founded in Bologna in 1926. Ten years later, production moved to the newly established Borgo Panigale factory. Since then, the company and the city have evolved together, sharing a journey shaped by industrial, social, and cultural transformations. At Palazzo Pepoli, home to the Museum of the History of Bologna, documents, images, and objects trace the evolution of this enduring relationship: from Ducati’s early activities in radio communications to the birth of motorcycle production, through to the Ducati of today. The story of a company thus becomes part of the history of the city that witnessed its origins and continues to accompany its growth.
The Design of an Icon - Galleria Cavour
Every Ducati is born from the encounter between engineering, aerodynamics, and a distinctive sensitivity for form. At Galleria Cavour, drawings, models, and design solutions reveal the creative process behind every motorcycle. From the first sketches to the study of surfaces, the exhibition traces how an initial vision takes shape through proportion, material, and character. A journey into Ducati design, where every detail contributes to making a motorcycle instantly recognisable at first glance.
A Signature Spanning a Century - Palazzo Boncompagni
Palazzo Boncompagni hosts Collezione100, the project created to celebrate the liveries that have marked defining moments in Ducati’s history. Ten contemporary motorcycles meet the models that inspired them. Colours, forms, and graphic details create a dialogue between different eras, revealing how Ducati’s heritage continues to live on through today’s creations. The artworks of Ugo Nespolo accompany the motorcycles with an artistic narrative defined by bold lines, vibrant colours, and new perspectives on the Ducati universe.

Bookings and access

Booking is required for Palazzo Boncompagni only. The other venues can be accessed without booking, except for Stadio Dall'Ara, which requires a valid match ticket.

Should maximum capacity be reached, access may be temporarily regulated according to the venue's capacity, and staff will manage the flow of visitors.

Organised group tours and dedicated school visits are not available.

Accessibility

Accessibility conditions vary from venue to venue. At Palazzo Boncompagni there are three steps at the entrance, while at Galleria Cavour level -1 can only be reached by stairs. In the latter case, visitors can still access level 0, where the first part of the exhibition is displayed.

Lifts are available at Palazzo Pepoli – Museum of the History of Bologna only.

Visitors with disabilities may be accompanied at all venues, subject to purchase of the admission ticket required for that venue.

Guide dogs are welcome at all venues.

Accessible toilets are available at all venues except Galleria Cavour.

Easy-to-read texts, Italian Sign Language (LIS) content and audio descriptions are not available.

Content is available in Italian and English.

No audio guide is available. For the exhibition at Palazzo Boncompagni, the Palazzo Boncompagni guides are available.
