The Ducati Team is ready for the battle of Silverstone

After the fantastic race in Austria, the Ducati Team is off to Great Britain where it will be on the track this weekend at Silverstone.

Lorenzo is coming off his incredible victory at the RedBull Ring, demonstrating once again his firm intention to return to his highest competitive levels. Supported by a powerful Desmosedici GP, which once again confirmed its extraordinary fit with the Austrian track, Jorge rode a masterful race, engaging in hand-to-hand combat down to the finish line.

Dovizioso finished in a strong third place after achieving the first row in qualification runs. We are sure that Andrea will travel to Silverstone more prepared than ever to return to winning form, since last year he was the one that took top honours on the British track.

Silverstone is one of the fastest tracks on the calendar even though it doesn't have long straights. It's a technical circuit with curves where cornering speed makes all the difference. Obviously in Northern Europe weather conditions are always unpredictable, and so the riders may find themselves having to race on a wet track or in changing conditions.

General info

Silverstone, situated half-way between Oxford and Northampton and a couple of hours drive from London, started life as an RAF military airport, and is the longest – as well as one of the fastest – circuits on the entire calendar. With more than sixty years of history behind it, it is one of the world’s most prestigious motorsport venues, with races held for all categories, both four wheels and two. Massive investments saw the completion of a first phase of improvement work to greatly improve the venue in 2010, when the track once again became the venue for the British Grand Prix.
