Discover moreAn exciting weekend for Ducati, featuring different riders and teams but dominated by the same determination. After Australia, we really needed to get back to the top, also to remind ourselves, as was so evident last Sunday, that staying at the top is never a foregone conclusion, but can only but stem from constant commitment. It was an excellent Saturday for Pecco, from Q1 through to the win in the Sprint, via an exciting Pole Position. He was perfect, always in front and immediately running clear from the very start. Result of sterling teamwork, and the rider's dedication at the end of the race says it all: this is a great satisfaction for a Group that, over and above an awesome performance, has never ceased working and committing itself, in complete unison, to finding new solutions, and so it will be until the end.
A Saturday that formalises Alex Marquez's wonderful second place in the World Championship standings and confirms Aldeguer as “rookie of the year”, a prestigious award that we are particularly partial to. With Sunday's win, Team Gresini can also frame a fantastic 2025 with the title of Best Independent Team: to them, all our applause and heartfelt congratulations! Well done indeed!
Alex's performance was unchallenged, masterfully managed in its one-way evolution after an initial attack that left no room for response. A steady pace that was unsustainable for the others, then a further surge and an inexorable crescendo that gave him his solo victory for his third seasonal Moto GP win.
His championship was one of substance, with the latter part that was less spectacular and incisive than the former, but equally effective in securing valuable points with consummate consistency, demonstrating his growth and maturity, and is final consecration. A really great job!
This was an absolutely positive weekend for Pecco. We did a remarkable job. Of course, we had hoped to repeat Saturday's Sprint Race, but that was not to be: the unfortunate choice of medium front tyre caused him to lose grip halfway through the bends. In any case, he could have still clinched an excellent podium finish but, unfortunately, bad luck reared its head. All in all, it was one of the most positive weekends of the championship, both for our performance on the track, with a top spot on Saturday, but above all because for the first time this year we managed to turn around a very complicated Friday. It's a shame it all didn't finish in the best possible way, but morale is high and we are in good spirits: we will try to build on what we did well here, seeking the consistency level that is still eluding us.
Our heartfelt thoughts and best wishes go out to Rueda and Dettwiler: keeping close to them reminds us, despite everything, to appreciate to the full the things we are experiencing.
And so, we are approaching the end of what has been an extraordinary season for us, and it is precisely to honour the titles we have won that we must keep giving of our all, to show the utmost professionalism right up to the last curve of the last GP. For our riders, for the tracks that await us and for our fabulous fans.
Forza Ducati!
