The Motocorsa Racing Team with Zanetti at the Imola SBK world championship round

The Motocorsa Racing Team confirms that i twill take part in the fifth round of the Motul FIM Superbike world championship with wildcard Lorenzo Zanetti and the Ducati Panigale V4 R.
After one season in the European Superstock 1000 series, this event, set to take place at the Imola Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit over the weekend of 10-12 May, will mark the Motocorsa Racing team’s debut in the world championship.
The rider will be Lorenzo Zanetti, who has already competed for Lorenzo Mauri’s squad, taking part in the Italian CIV Superbike championship in 2017 and 2018. As he is also an official Ducati test rider of the Panigale V4 R in its Superbike version, Zanetti is clearly the right rider for this world wildcard.

Lorenzo Zanetti: “I’m very pleased to return to the Superbike world championship. It hasn’t been easy putting all the pieces of this project together, but we’ve all worked hard and in the end we’ve achieved our goal. As well as Lorenzo Mauri I must thanks Ducati and Pirelli for having helped us make this Imola wildcard possible. The bike is making its debut and the team will be able to count on technical support from Ducati Corse. So I hope to be able to do well, up against the world championship riders. I’m not setting myself any specific goals, only to do my best and enjoy it as much as possible. I haven’t raced at world level for two years and will do all I can to make the most of this great opportunity”.

Lorenzo Mauri: “We’ve worked hard to be ready for this event, a very important one for me and my whole team. It will be an opportunity to show what we can do against the top riders in the SBK world championship. As this is our debut appearance, we feel a little like the new kids at school. My thanks go to all our sponsors that have allowed us to make this project a reality; we hope to be able to repay them with positive results”.
