Discover moreThanks to its revolutionary design and extraordinary performance, the Lamborghini Miura became a timeless icon in the automotive world. Among the 763 examples produced in 86 different colours, it is Giallo Miura, or Miura Yellow, that has emerged in the collective imagination as the signature colour of this legendary car.
The choice of yellow was not merely aesthetic; it reflected the Miura’s bold and adventurous character. Giallo Miura made the car instantly recognisable, becoming an integral part of its visual identity and helping to establish yellow as a distinctive colour of the Lamborghini brand.
Nathan Sawaya’s works transform LEGO bricks into extraordinary sculptures that go far beyond simple construction. In Human Condition, through a bold use of yellow, Sawaya creates a piece that combines the innocence of toys with conceptual depth, demonstrating how yellow, often associated with joy and vitality, can also become a vehicle for complexity and artistic meaning.
Yayoi Kusama’s Yellow Pumpkin is an iconic artwork that reflects the distinctive style and visionary world of the Japanese artist. Created in 1994 and installed on the Japanese island of Naoshima, it transformed the picturesque fishing village into a destination beloved by contemporary art enthusiasts. Positioned on an old pier stretching out into the sea, the Yellow Pumpkin is surrounded by the deep blue of the ocean and the lush green of the trees, standing out through its vibrant yellow colour. In 2021, a powerful typhoon swept it into the sea. However, thanks to a faithful replica, Kusama’s yellow pumpkin returned to shine once again, embodying the artist’s vision and the ability to emerge gracefully even in the face of natural adversity.
Andy Warhol’s iconic banana, featured on the cover of The Velvet Underground & Nico, is a landmark of contemporary art and pop culture. More than half a century after its debut, it continues to inspire reflection on the nature of art and society itself.
The banana’s vibrant yellow is far from a casual colour choice; it is a key element of Warhol’s aesthetic language. The colour enhances its visual impact, capturing the viewer’s attention and emphasising the object’s distinctive character. Warhol transforms an ordinary piece of fruit into an icon, demonstrating his unique ability to make the everyday extraordinary.
Warhol’s yellow banana goes beyond its visual appearance, becoming a symbol of rebellion against traditional artistic conventions. By turning an everyday object into an emblem of his revolutionary artistic vision, Warhol challenged conventional ideas of what could be considered art.
The Kiss is a masterpiece rich in symbolism, where the colour yellow takes centre stage, enveloping flowing figures and intricate decorative patterns. Klimt uses yellow to evoke divine illumination, conveying a sense of luxury and spirituality, and transforming the passion of a fleeting moment into timeless beauty.
In 1975, team manager Bruno Spaggiari chose yellow for the Ducati 750 SS Desmo machines that went on to race and win the Italian production-based championship. In the 1990s, yellow returned to the track with the 748, the “junior” version of the 916, and later appeared on some of Ducati’s most celebrated superbikes, including the 916, 996, 749, 999 and 1199 Panigale, as well as several generations of the Monster and the ST2 and ST4 models.
Alongside the traditional red, Ducati Yellow became a symbol of excellence, a promise of performance, strong emotions and a unique riding experience. It reflects the brand’s dynamic and bold spirit, the determination and character that inspire every Ducati project, both on the road and on racetracks around the world.
Ducati Yellow returned to the spotlight during the 2023 racing season, when it adorned the bikes of World Champions Pecco Bagnaia and Álvaro Bautista at the Misano rounds of the MotoGP and WorldSBK championships.
It was an emotional moment for the Ducati community and a tribute to a glorious history of victories, in the same year that the number 1 returned to the fairings of Ducati motorcycles.
The liveries worn during the two Misano races went on to inspire the bodywork of the two Panigale V4 models dedicated to the MotoGP and WorldSBK champions. A stylistic statement full of character, making these motorcycles even more exclusive. Both are part of a special limited and numbered series created to celebrate a record-breaking racing season alongside Ducati’s most loyal and passionate enthusiasts.
It is an exclusive series celebrating an unforgettable season. Five motorcycles unique in the world, each featuring a livery inspired by Ducati Champions and bearing the rider’s original signature on the fuel tank.
